Sealant Replacement
We have extensive experience with all types of joint sealants installation and replacements.
Most of our projects include replacement of aging sealants as a maintenance task, however we also run into many situations where sealants have prematurely failed due to improper material selection, improper joint preparation or installation, and improper tooling. Over the years, we have installed numerous manufacturer’s products, many of which include extended warranties up to 20 years. We were on the executive committee that published the SWRI’s “Sealants: The Professional’s Guide”, both in 1984, 1990 and again in 1995.
Our joint sealant work typically includes:
- Perimeter sealant replacement around fenestrations such as windows, doors, and louvers.
- Glazing sealant replacement within curtainwall and window systems.
- Control joints, expansion joints, and other façade relief joints.
- Horizontal joint sealants such as those in parking decks, sidewalks, stadiums, and concrete plazas.
- Capstone sealants between coping stone units.
- Decorative trim and architectural features.
- Joints between dissimilar materials which exhibit differential rates of expansion and contraction.
- Preformed seals such as DowSil 123 Tape and Tremco Simple Seal.
- High performance joints such as Emseal, WillSeal, etc.
- Parking garage and stadium expansion joints.
What Our
Customers Say
“As the building manager, I absolutely agree with Gary. These guys were top notch. Everything looks way better than I expected. It’s so nice to see the masonry on this 100+ year old building really come around due to their hard work.”
